Ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Old Trafford, Manchester United have posted a team news update on their website.

Harry Maguire missed United’s last game through a red-card suspension, but he’s now available again for United.

Luke Shaw also might return after a couple of head injuries. He missed the matches against Villarreal and Chelsea, but United say he’s been “treated carefully”.

Given Shaw only seemed to narrowly miss out on the Chelsea clash, it’s very possible he takes part on Thursday.

Raphael Varane, Paul Pogba, and Edinson Cavani have also been absent through injury lately, and United report that none of the three are in a position to face Arsenal.

Pogba picked up an injury on international duty, and speaking in one of his final press conferences as Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that he wouldn’t be back anytime soon.

“I would say months rather than weeks,” Solskjaer said on Pogba’s return date.

“It was a disappointing injury for Paul. I’m not a doctor of course and we can’t say how quickly it will heal.

“Sometimes you hope for six or seven weeks and the worst-case scenario is 10, 11, 12 weeks with muscle injuries like this.

“Hopefully just after Christmas, we can see him.”
