Lille don’t want to sell Arsenal-linked Jonathan David in January, and they’d be looking for a substantial fee for the forward in the summer.

Jeunes Footeux report that Lille are putting out the barbed wire for Jonathan David. They don’t want to sell him in January, and they’d only come to the table for an offer of €55m or more in the summer – and only in the summer.

This follows the Evening Standard’s report that Arsenal are scouting a number of different options up front, with David on their shortlist.

Goal report that Arsenal are long-term admirers of David, who is expected to move in the summer.

Goal also mention Arsenal’s strong relationship with the French club, following the deals for Gabriel Magalhaes and Nicolas Pepe.

The Gunners do have other options on the table, with a lot of talk about Dominic Calvert-Lewin in recent months. It’s pretty clear they’ll be in for a striker in the summer, we just don’t know which one yet.

21-year-old David has made a strong start to life in France, scoring 14 goals so far this season.

Three of those came from the penalty spot, but 11 open-play goals is still a good record for this point in the campaign.

The Canadian international has also been prolific for his country, scoring 18 and assisting 10 in his 24 international appearances.
