The Telegraph report that Dan James picked up a muscular injury during Leeds United’s defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

Marcelo Bielsa has since confirmed James is out for the Arsenal game, as is Jamie Shackleton with an Achilles problem.

That wasn’t the only piece of bad news from the game, with Junior Firpo also receiving a suspension after his fifth yellow card of the season.

There were already a few players unavailable for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

The Athletic report that Kalvin Phillips has undergone surgery to repair his hamstring injury, and he’s now expected to be out for at least two months. He’ll certainly miss Saturday’s visit from Arsenal.

Just last week, The Telegraph reported that Patrick Bamford was facing at least two weeks out after an injury which became apparent after he scored his equaliser at the end of the Brentford game.

Liam Cooper has also suffered a hamstring injury, and will miss the match as well.

Pascal Struijk was meant to return to action against Chelsea at the weekend, but he injured his foot in training, so he’s another doubt. He’s already missed the match against Manchester City.

On the positive side for Leeds fans, Robin Koch is available again.

Koch is now over his pelvic injury, according to Leeds themselves, and he resumed training at the weekend after overcoming an illness. Bielsa says he’s now available.
