Arsenal are reportedly believed to be an option for Georginio Wijnaldum in the January window, as PSG consider loaning the midfielder.

Sky Sports report that Arsenal are understood to be a potential destination for Gini Wijnaldum in the January window, if Paris Saint-Germain let him go.

The player is open to a Premier League return, after growing a bit frustrated over his minutes with PSG.

There’s some confusion over whether or not PSG actually want the 31-year-old to leave.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims PSG are willing to listen to loan offers for Wijnaldum in January, but Sky’s article on their site suggests PSG appear unlikely to let him leave.

Arsenal could probably do with an extra body in midfield, especially with Thomas Partey leaving for AFCON in January and the Ghana international’s form at the moment.

Wijnaldum can also bring goals if he’s utilised correctly. He’s been a regular scorer for the Netherlands, bagging 18 goals in his last 35 games.

The midfielder wasn’t so prolific playing a deeper role with Liverpool, scoring three goals last season. He also has three goals with PSG this campaign so far. But he’d still offer something different to Arsenal’s current options.

The problem is that the links just aren’t particularly credible at this stage.

Even ignoring the fact that Sky and their reporters don’t seem to have their story straight, they’ve had a mixed record on transfer news lately anyway.
