O Povo report that Fortaleza are preparing for their first season in the Copa Libertadores by planning to sign well-known players from overseas – aiming to combine boosts on the marketing side and on the pitch.

One of the players they’re considering is Jack Wilshere, who was reportedly offered to them.

A few months ago, Arsenal confirmed that Wilshere was back at London Colney, with the club helping the player to prepare and train for his next step while he does his coaching badges.

Wilshere later clarified that he has an agreement with the club until January, and he’s been attending some of the academy games so he’s prepared to help coach them as well.

January is now fast approaching, and the goal for Wilshere was to sign a playing contract at one club or another during the winter window.

Mikel Arteta recently praised Wilshere’s attitude and talent, though he distanced himself from talk of an Arsenal contract.

“It’s great to have him around,” Arteta said. “He is this type of character who adds special feeling to the club. He comes in every day with a smile on his face, trying to do his best.

“His talent is unquestionable. When you see him in training, I think you have had some players say he is the best in training.

“Yes, 100 percent (he has the ability to play in the Premier League)! I have seen that, I can tell that he has.”

But for Arsenal?

“That’s a different story!” Arteta answered.
