The Athletic report that Thomas Partey is fit and available for Arsenal’s trip to Anfield on Saturday, despite injury concerns over the last couple of weeks.

That follows a claim from YouTuber Curtis Shaw, who tweeted on Friday night that Partey had travelled with the Arsenal squad to Liverpool.

Earlier that day, Partey was spotted in training photos with the first team, one of his first full sessions after injury.

Partey got injured before the international break, but the initial hope was that he’d be able to play some part for Ghana.

When that didn’t happen, the worries inevitably grew that he wouldn’t make it back in time for Saturday’s trip to Anfield either.

Arteta was non-committal in his press conference before the game, only stating that the midfielder hadn’t done enough to be available at that point.

“He couldn’t play for the national team,” Arteta explained. “He really tried to do that and pushed for that one but wasn’t enough.

“Again that’s something we have to assess because until today he hasn’t done enough.”

Evidently, whatever Partey did in the final day of training on Friday was enough to convince the Arsenal staff to include him for the trip.

That’s obviously a boost for Arsenal, as Partey is one of the team’s key players, particularly in Granit Xhaka’s absence.

The 28-year-old has experience of competing in matches against Liverpool specifically, having defeated them at Anfield in a Champions League knockout match with Atletico Madrid.

This is his first trip to Anfield with Arsenal, let’s hope for a similar outcome.
