Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang flew back from international duty with Gabon early this week, amid some reports of an injury. Fortunately, it seems he’s alright.

Charles Watts reports that Aubameyang has been back training with Arsenal today at London Colney.

According to Watts, the early return was pre-planned with Gabon, and it doesn’t relate to an injury.

Most notably, the Goal Arsenal correspondent adds that Aubameyang is fine for Saturday’s match against Liverpool.

According to Gabonese newspaper The Union, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang initially flew to Egypt with the rest of the squad, before taking a private flight chartered by Arsenal back to London.

Gabon had a match against Egypt on Tuesday, but Aubameyang wasn’t in the squad.

FilGoal.com reported that a spokesperson for FEGAFOOT informed them Aubameyang isn’t injured, but simply rested.

But there were other reports indicating an injury, so it’s good to get confirmation from sources in the English media.

The Arsenal captain was initially stretchered off the field in Gabon’s game against Libya, but he did appear to be fine afterwards, walking around unaided and dancing along with the squad on Instagram.

After Egypt’s draw with Angola on Friday ended any lingering Gabon hopes of finishing top of their World Cup qualification group, they were clearly comfortable letting him go.
