Jordi Osei-Tutu is back outside running and doing ball work, as he continues his recovery from injury at Arsenal for the time being.
Speaking in an Instagram live (via Jeorge Bird), Jordi Osei-Tutu confirmed on Monday that he’s back outside running and doing ball work. The Arsenal right-back is currently working on his comeback from a hamstring injury suffered on loan at Nottingham Forest.
For now, Osei-Tutu is back with Arsenal for his rehabilitation. He’ll return to Nottingham when fit.
Early last month, Forest boss Steve Cooper confirmed the unfortunate news that the defender wouldn’t be back soon.
“Jordi is still with Arsenal. He’s still doing his recovery,” Cooper said in early October. “When things progress, we’ll get an update from Arsenal. It won’t be yet. He’s nowhere near being ready for us.
“With him getting injured in the Blackburn game, Arsenal have taken care of his recovery – which is sometimes the case with loan players.
“It seems to be a little bit longer than anybody hoped, especially Jordi. We’re in Arsenal’s hands with it. It won’t be soon, that’s for sure.”
At this stage, Osei-Tutu remains with Arsenal. But the signs suggest it’s not going to be too long now until he can be more involved in team training sessions.
The Arsenal loan full-back picked up a hamstring injury in Forest’s game against Blackburn Rovers in August. That followed three hamstring setbacks with Cardiff City last season.
Former Nottingham Forest boss Hughton confirmed this latest injury was to the same hamstring as before. Hughton was subsequently sacked and replaced by Steve Cooper following a poor run of results.
Though he’s primarily a right-back, Osei-Tutu featured at left-back for Forest before his injury.
