When you talk about senior internationals, you usually expect to see players in their late twenties and early thirties with a wealth of experience behind them to earn their spot in their national side. At Arsenal, that often doesn’t seem to be the case.

We’ve already seen Bukayo Saka (20) and Aaron Ramsdale (23) called up by England this November, Martin Odegaard (22) called up by Norway, and Kieran Tierney (24) by Scotland. There’s plenty more where that came from.

Albert Sambi Lokonga (22) is back in the Belgium squad, Takehiro Tomiyasu (23) will return for Japan, whilst Daniel Ballard (22) is in the Northern Ireland squad.

We can go younger still, with 19-year-olds Karl Hein and Omar Rekik called up by Estonia and Tunisia.

You’d expect a few more of Arsenal’s young players to start getting call-ups pretty soon. Emile Smith Rowe and Nuno Tavares are impressing for their countries’ u21 sides, and Gabriel Magalhaes must be knocking on the door with Brazil.

Ben White isn’t in the England squad this time, but he’s already made his debut and can’t be too far off either.

The future looks bright for many of these young internationals, and we wish them all a positive week and a healthy return!
