Thomas Frank says he’s happy with Brentford, and whilst it’s sweet to read rumours about Arsenal, they haven’t contacted him.

Speaking to the media in Denmark, Thomas Frank says he’s read about rumours linking him to Arsenal and Manchester United, but it doesn’t seem like he’s putting too much stock in them. The Brentford boss suggests no one has contacted him yet.

“Arsenal and United. Wasn’t that how it was? I think I read that at some point,” Frank told Bold.

“It’s very sweet, but one thing is rumours, and something else is if they really wanted to contact me. Then we have to take it from there.”

Frank doesn’t even rule out extending his contract with Brentford, though he again suggests that it’s up to the other party to make the first move.

One: I have a contract until 2023. Two: I’m insanely happy to be with Brentford,” Frank said. “A club that means a lot to me and where I have had great times. I enjoy working with our sports managers, owners, players, staff and fans.

“It is the club that must come to me, but now we must see what the future brings. I know we have a mutual respect and a good relationship with each other on that.”

Brentford have obviously made an excellent start to the season following their promotion. They sit seventh in the Premier League after seven games, and they’ve already achieved some big results against good sides.

Though I’d suggest it’s far too early to start drawing conclusions. It’s not uncommon for a promoted club to impress in the early stages and then fall away once they become a bit more of a known quantity around the division.

It’s harder to take teams by surprise halfway through the season. That’s when a manager like Frank is really tested. The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are unlikely to make a move before that.
