Albert Sambi Lokonga is hoping for the chance to put right his mistake against Crystal Palace, when Arsenal host Aston Villa on Friday.

Both Thomas Partey and Albert Sambi Lokonga were guilty of being caught on the ball in the build-up to the two goals Arsenal conceded against Crystal Palace on Monday.

Whilst some supporters argued Lokonga had been fouled, the midfielder himself admitted he’d made a mistake after the game.

“I think they (the goals) are from two mistakes, one of them mine as well,” Lokonga said. “It is an area where I cannot lose the ball, so it is difficult to speak about the goals when I made a mistake.”

The Belgium international went on to add that he hopes to put the error behind him as soon as he can, and he just wants to be back out there for the next match.

“I want to play the next game as quick as possible,” Lokonga admitted. “When you play a game like this, you are hungry inside because I made a mistake. I want to play the next game as quick as possible to change everything.”

Arsenal need their midfielders to bounce back in the Villa game, because they can’t afford to keep dropping points on this current run of games. They’ve already failed to win against Brighton and Crystal Palace, and the games are only going to get more difficult.

Arsenal’s next three away games are against Leicester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United. Their home form needs to improve if they don’t want to fall further behind.
