Harry Clarke provided an assist in a strong individual performance on Saturday, but he couldn’t help Ross County avoid defeat to St. Mirren.

Arsenal loanee Harry Clarke will probably feel a bit hard done by this weekend, after an assist and a solid individual display were undone by some sloppy defending and errors from the team.

Though Clarke has primarily operated as a centre-back in recent years at Arsenal, he is currently playing as a right-back for Ross County.

That does put a little pressure on him to get involved with getting forward and creating chances, so he’ll be glad he got his first assist of the campaign on Saturday.

Picking up the ball on the right of the box, Clarke sent in an early cross to find Alex Iacovitti for a first-team headed goal. Clarke also hit the woodwork himself in Ross County’s 3-2 defeat.

It was also a particularly good day for the Arsenal youngster in the physical battles, as he won 11 of his 12 individual duels.

Clarke is currently in the top-10 defenders in the league for aerial duels won, and he has the second-highest aerial duels won percentage of that top-10.

With all that being said, Ross County really need to get back to winning ways. They currently sit bottom of the division, without a win in nine league games, so things are looking pretty bleak.

Clarke needs to keep his form up so the team can hopefully start getting some results.
