Former Arsenal defender Bayli Spencer-Adams was released by the club in 2019, and he’s been on quite a journey since then.

The youngster initially signed for Watford, and he even made his first-team debut for the club in 2020. He then had a short-term loan spell with National League side Dover Athletic, before his release by Watford earlier this year.

Spencer-Adams spent time on trial with Burnley in May, then with Leicester City over the month. He made three starts for the club’s u23 side between mid-September and the international break, and clearly did enough to earn himself a contract.

That’s obviously great news for the 20-year-old, who will now remain with a strong Premier League club. He should get a chance to continue his development with their u23 side as he pushes to break into senior football full-time.

As well as his appearances on various trials, Spencer-Adams also got his first chance on the international stage earlier this year. He made his debut for Guyana in March, and he was called up again in June.

That’s another positive step for the former Gunner, but it’s arguably more important that he has the security of a contract with a new club. Congratulations to him on that!
