Julien Maynard of French outlet Telefoot reports that contrary to some recent rumours, there is no chance that William Saliba leaves Marseille in the winter transfer window.

Arsenal aren’t going to recall Saliba, and he’ll remain with the Ligue 1 club until “at least” the end of the season.

It’s worth mentioning that Fabrizio Romano recently suggested that the move to Marseille will only last until the end of the campaign at most. He reported that Arsenal trust the centre-back “100%” for the future and “he’ll be back” in the summer.

Along with Bukayo Saka, William Saliba made the Golden Boy 20-man shortlist this year, so you’d be brave to bet against him having a big future in football.

Marseille teammate Dimitri Payet told the media last week that he doesn’t understand why Saliba hasn’t played more for Arsenal, given his performances on loan so far.

Perhaps he’s right, and the France u21 international should be more involved with his parent club now. But it looks like the Gunners aren’t looking to bring the defender back early this season. The season-long loan remains season-long.
