Arsenal have overseen a number of changes to the academy coaching staff this year.

Steve Bould started 2021 in charge of the u23s, with Ryan Garry working as his assistant. Garry then took the head coach job on an interim basis when Bould left the club, but he returned to his assistant role when Kevin Betsy joined as the new head coach.

That didn’t last long, as Garry chose to leave and take Betsy’s old job as head coach of the England u18s.

Garry’s departure has left an opening, and Arsenal are clearly considering filling the position with an external candidate. They’re advertising for the job on the club website.

There should be plenty of interest. The Arsenal academy appear to be doing well on and off the pitch right now, Betsy has the u23s on a strong run of form, and there are plenty of talented young players in the team.

The chance to join up with Betsy at one of England’s top clubs and top academies should attract a lot of candidates.
