Jose Mourinho has told Granit Xhaka he should get the Covid vaccine and ‘be safe’ after the midfielder contracted Covid.

Like shutting the door after the lame horse has bolted, Mourinho’s advice to Granit Xhaka, whom the Swiss FA confirmed had decided against being vaccinated, telling Xhaka to take the jab after he caught the illness is a bit late.

Still, nice of Mourinho to try and talk some sense into him.

Xhaka, who will miss the next three Arsenal games due to his red card against Manchester City (that he couldn’t believe was given), was meant to be on international duty but is now in isolation, raising to five the number of games he will miss due to his own decision-making process.

Jose Mourinho had left his comment of “Get the jab Granit and be safe” on Xhaka’s Instagram.

The midfielder, who wanted to join Mourinho at Roma, replied, “Thank you, mister”.
