Arsenal were waiting on news that the defender, signed on deadline day, would be allowed to play.

With the news that his work permit has been granted, they have gone ahead and posted a load of pictures of him posing in his new Arsenal shirt:

Tomiyasu played in the second of Japan’s fixtures during this international break, a 1-0 win over China.

He rated 7.6 for the game in which he played the full 90 minutes, playing the majority of his passes in the opposition half and finding five of his eight targets with long balls. Tomiyasu also won six of his eight duels and six of his seven aerials. In addition, the new Arsenal man made eight recoveries.

Tomiyasu was not in the squad for their 1-0 defeat against Oman on 2 September.
