Harry Clarke started for Ross County away to Aberdeen over the weekend, and put in an impressive defensive display in a match where Aberdeen largely dominated.

The hosts had 75% possession, but they could only manage a 1-1 draw against Clarke’s loan side. The young centre-back made nine clearances and won seven of nine duels in a busy performance, and his individual display was recognised with an appearance in the SPFL Team of the Week.

Clarke wrote on Twitter that he was “proud” to have made the team, and hoped it was the “first of many”.

It certainly looks as if the 20-year-old is going to get plenty more opportunities to feature in future Teams of the Week. After coming off the bench for 45 minutes on this debut, Clarke has started both league games for Ross County since then, already nailing down his spot.
