Daniel Ballard was Arsenal’s only outfield loanee to play the full 90 minutes on Saturday, as Millwall drew 1-1 away to Nottingham Forest – who were still missing Jordi Osei-Tutu through injury.

Dejan Iliev played the full match in goal for Sered against Michalovce, as they lost 1-0. Tom Smith also got a start in goal for Welling United against Dartford, but they were thrashed 6-0.

Tyreece John-Jules was the only loan starter to feature in a win, playing 69 minutes of Blackpool’s victory over Barnsley, though he did miss a good chance to score his first league goal for the Championship club.

Matt Smith played 78 minutes in a defeat to Plymouth Argyle with Doncaster Rovers, creating a couple of chances but also making six fouls.

Harry Clarke made an appearance as a second-half substitute for Ross County, but he couldn’t prevent them slipping to defeat away to Motherwell.

After a recent absence, Nikolaj Duus Moller returned to the FC Viktoria Koln squad on Saturday, but he didn’t come off the bench. Miguel Azeez also remained on the bench for the entirety of Portsmouth’s draw away to Charlton Athletic.

Reiss Nelson and Jonathan Dinzeyi were unavailable for Feyenoord and Carlisle United respectively.

Overall, not the best day for Arsenal loanees. Six of them managed to get out onto the pitch, with only one involved in a win and no goals or assists for the attackers, or clean sheets for the goalkeepers and defenders.

Hopefully, Sunday will bring some better results, with Lucas Torreira (Fiorentina), Konstantinos Mavropanos (Stuttgart), Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba (Marseille), and Hector Bellerin (Real Betis) all potentially in action.
