Despite some recent links to Watford, including from Nicolo Schira, Mohamed Elneny isn’t set to make the hop over the fence at London Colney to join Arsenal’s training ground neighbours.

TheAFCBell report that Arsenal haven’t received an offer for Elneny from Watford. The club is open to selling for an acceptable offer, as with most players, but they haven’t received one at this stage. Fabrizio Romano also confirms that there’s no bid from Watford for Elneny.

As well as Watford, Elneny was also linked with Besiktas earlier in the summer.

Elneny spent time in the Super Lig with Besiktas in the 2019/20 season, before winning back a squad spot with Arsenal the following season. But according to reports, he’s not about to make a return to Turkey.

Football.London report that Elneny to Besiktas is not happening, and the midfielder is part of Mikel Arteta’s plans for the season. However, Arsenal haven’t offered Elneny a new contract, not yet revisiting preliminary discussions from the end of last season on the subject.

That means Elneny is now down to the final year of his contract with Arsenal. If nothing else changes, he’ll see out one final campaign with the club before leaving as a free agent.
