Turkish outlet FotoMac report that Fenerbahce are on the hunt for a new left-back in the final weeks of the transfer window, and Sead Kolašinac is on their agenda.

They understand that Mesut Özil has helped to convince Kolašinac to join, and the player is in the final stage of negotiations with Fenerbahce and the Arsenal management.

There’s no word on the exact nature of the deal, so we’ll have to wait for further details to emerge on that front. Given the measly payment Fenerbahce handed over for Özil (a free transfer with some fairly small add-ons), I wouldn’t expect too much for Kolašinac.

For Arsenal, Kolašinac’s departure is more about getting his wages off the bill and removing a non-homegrown player from the squad list. With Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares already available, there’s no need for a third left-back whilst the Gunners don’t have European competition.
