Feyenoord and Arsenal have confirmed the loan signing of Reiss Nelson for the season, with the winger reportedly extending his Arsenal contract to 2023 before leaving.

Mikel Arteta has not been subtle in making it clear to Nelson that he has no role at Arsenal under his management. He’s seen just 19 minutes of action in the league since the end of 2020 and has made just nine appearances since the start of last season, a total of 262 minutes.

As a result, he has been allowed to leave the club on loan, but only after Arsenal protected their investment by getting him to sign a new deal.

You are a fool, however, if you think you will ever see Nelson play for Arsenal again as long as Mikel Arteta is still there.
