Martin Odegaard has sent a message on social media to the Arsenal fans revealing how happy he is to be back at the club.
Martin Odegaard completed a permanent transfer from Real Madrid to Arsenal on Friday, signing a five-year deal and taking the number eight shirt at his new club.
The move cost Arsenal around €35m, according to reports, a very reasonable price considering the midfielder’s age and potential. Unfortunately, he won’t be straight into the action, as visa issues leave him unavailable for the Chelsea clash this weekend.
All the same, it’s an exciting time for Arsenal and Odegaard himself, as he takes the next step in his career. He’s been in limbo with loans for a while now, but he can finally commit to a club as a starter for the long term.
The player certainly sounded happy on Instagram, posting how glad he was to return to North London.
“Damn, it feels good to be back,” Odegaard wrote. “Great feeling to commit myself to this amazing club for the long term this time. I can’t wait to get out there again and play in front of a full Emirates stadium.
“Finally be able to have you all there lifting us forward! More motivated and excited than ever. Let’s go gunners!”
With any luck, we’ll see Odegaard out there before long, possibly in the League Cup clash with West Bromwich Albion in midweek.
