The Mexican National Team website confirmed their u20 call-ups on Monday, and Marcelo Flores is on the squad list. Most of the squad travelled to Amsterdam on Monday, though Flores will join them when they move on to Spain for two friendly matches.

The Mexico u20s will play the Spain u19s twice, first on Friday, September 3rd at 19:00 BST, then on Sunday, September 5th at 10:30 BST.

After those two matches, the squad will return to Mexico on Wednesday, September 8th, whilst Flores will obviously return to London.

As we’ve covered on plenty of occasions in the past, Flores has the option to play for Canada, Mexico, or England in the future. As things stand, it seems he hadn’t made a final decision on that front.

But Canada and Mexico are both pushing to attract him to their cause, and this latest call-up suggests Mexico are back in the lead to secure his future.
