The first official pictures of Arsenal players in the new third kit have been posted by the club following its release.

Arsenal announced their new third kit on Tuesday, getting in there before the Premier League season gets underway as expected. As a result, we got our first look at some of the players wearing the new shirt.

This isn’t the first we’ve seen of the shirt. The first official promotional pictures of Arsenal’s new Adidas third kit for the 2021/22 season leaked via FootyHeadlines last week. Even then, we already knew the design from previous leaks.

As you can see, the new shirt features a turquoise graphic and a blue lightning bolt pattern with red highlights. The shoulder stripes and the sponsors are in white, whilst the Adidas logo is two-coloured.

The shirt appears to be taking inspiration from old Arsenal Nike kits, as they released Blue Lightning shirts in 1994 and 1995.

It’s no surprise Arsenal have released the new kit before the competitive season kicks off, as they’ll need it. Brentford wear red and white shirts, so according to Arsenal, the Gunners will kick things off in this new blue shirt on Friday.

The home and away kits have already been released and used in pre-season matches.
