Italian journalists Niccolo Ceccarini and Marco Conterio report that Juventus are starting to consider their options up front post-Cristiano Ronaldo, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is among those options.

According to their updates, Juventus have made contact with Arsenal over Aubameyang, the Gunners’ current club captain and one of the recent Premier League Golden Boot winners.

Though Aubameyang’s goalscoring dipped last season, he looks to be back with a bang in the new campaign after a hat-trick on Wednesday in the League Cup. Given Arsenal’s goalscoring problems in general, that’s likely to make them hesitant to sanction a sale.

There were some reports earlier in the month that Arsenal were willing to offload Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer. He’s 32 years old and coming off a severe dip in form, so that also wouldn’t be hugely surprising.

But now that we’re so late in the window, it doesn’t seem likely Arsenal will be able to bring in a replacement. With that in mind, it’s hard to see them selling without a big bid from Juventus.
