Inter Milan need to make at least one more big sale this window, but they’d prefer to sell Lautaro Martinez to Arsenal over Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.

The Telegraph report that sources close to Inter Milan have confirmed the club need to sanction at least one more big sale before the end of the month.

If possible, Inter would prefer to sell Lautaro Martinez to Arsenal than Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea. Lukaku is their star goalscorer on a longer contract and they clearly want to keep him around.

The problem is that Arsenal are yet to make a bid for Martinez, despite their reported interest, whilst Chelsea have put money on the table for Lukaku. Lukaku is happy at Inter, but he would listen to a proposal from Chelsea, so that move seems more realistic.

There’s obviously a limited-window opportunity for Arsenal here. If they really want Martinez, they can make a bid and deny Chelsea the chance to sign Lukaku all at once. If they stall, they may see Chelsea sign Lukaku and Inter shut up shop for the summer.

Recent reports suggest that the Gunners genuinely do want to sign Martinez, but the question is whether they want him enough to use up another big chunk of their summer budget.
