Fenerbahce reportedly want to sign Cedric Soares and Sead Kolasinac this summer, with Mesut Ozil apparently playing a role.

Perhaps being able to sign Mesut Ozil has given Fenerbahce ideas above their station. This is a club, after all, who spends every summer being linked with a host of Arsenal players only to buy none of them because they have no money. That’s why them actually signing Mesut Ozil in January was such a big shock.

Now, they want Cedric Soares and Sead Kolasinac, too.

Kolasinac might not be so much of an issue from an Arsenal standpoint. They clearly want the player and his wages out of the club, and would likely take just a nominal fee for him to facilitate that. But those same wages would exclude a move to Fenerbahce. If they were too much for Schalke, do you really think Fener will be able to cough up?

As for Cedric, Arsenal signed him on a free transfer last summer and he is currently under contract until 2024. Valued at £5.4m, the 29-year-old is worth just a little more than Kolasinac who is out of contract next summer.
