Arsenal loanee Daniel Ballard is still looking for his first win in competitive fixtures with Millwall in the Championship, but his individual performances are earning him praise from onlookers.

London News Online report that Ballard showed his quality on and off the ball against Fulham, dealing with Mitrovic well, showing composure, strength and a strong aerial ability.

The centre-back made six clearances on the night, including one off the line, and he also made three interceptions and two tackles without being dribbled past. He also won all five of his aerial duels.

The same outlet also praise Ballard’s diagonal ball to help set up Millwall’s opening goal in the game against Blackburn Rovers a few days earlier. The pass was one of a couple of dangerous long balls from Ballard to get his team on the attack.

It’s no real surprise to see Ballard stepping up to the task once again, just as he did in League One last season. The Championship is a different prospect, but it’s worth remembering the young defender also has international experience. It’s going to take a lot to faze him.
