Bukayo Saka has returned to training with Arsenal after his extended post-Euro 2020 holiday, undergoing his fitness tests with the club.

On Wednesday morning, Arsenal posted a video of Bukayo Saka returning to London Colney, greeting his teammates and taking part in some fitness tests to see where he’s at after his holiday.

Mikel Arteta had confirmed at the weekend that Saka would be back in the early part of this week, one of the last players to return after his heavy involvement in Euro 2020 and a packed club season before that.

Saka is unlikely to be ready for the early weeks of the new season, but it’s just good to have him around again.

Just how quickly he can get involved is likely to depend on the results of his preliminary fitness assessment. But there should be no rush. As much as we’d love to see him playing, Saka has had a long season and needs to take his time.

Arsenal also posted a video of Saka being shown all the letters and gifts that fans had sent him, which was heartwarming.

We look forward to seeing Saka back training with the squad again soon.
