Portuguese journalist Filipe Dias (via Football Daily) reports that whilst Bernardo Silva does still want to leave Manchester City this summer, he’s turned down Arsenal as a potential destination.

Silva’s desire to move on from City has been widely reported this summer, and it did seem as though Arsenal were making a move for him.

The potential transfer made some sense as well. A player out of favour with the Premier League champions joining a club with a greater need for his services where he can have more of an impact, not to mention linking back up with his former coach in Mikel Arteta.

But it seems Silva has his sights set elsewhere. Instead, Arsenal will look to their alternative signings in creative midfield roles, a list which reportedly includes Martin Ødegaard and Houssem Aouar. If Silva isn’t up for the challenge at Arsenal, it’s certainly not a move to labour on.
