Ben White arrived at Arsenal for a cost of £52.65m, making him the club’s third most expensive signing behind Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

With a big price tag comes big responsibility.

As such, he’s been named one of 10 players to keep an eye on in the upcoming season by World Soccer, along with Dele Alli, Emiliano Buendia, Tomas Soucek, Emmanuel Dennis, Curtis Jones, Billy Gilmour, Demari Gray, Jesse Lingard and Michael Olise.

“This time last year,” World Soccer write, “we asked if the centre-back could handle the step up to the Premier League following a successful loan at Leeds. The answer was an emphatic yes, as demonstrated by his £50m move to Arsenal and Euro 2020 call-up.”

Daily Cannon tactics guru, Stephen Bradley, made a video to explain what Arsenal will be getting for their £50m and why Arsenal fans should be very excited indeed. He also explains why Arsenal fans should go back and look at footage of Ben White when he was on loan at Leeds, playing for Marcelo Bielsa, to get a real feel for why Mikel Arteta wanted him, what he will bring to the squad and why things don’t look good at all for William Saliba.
