Arsenal are reportedly open to listening to offers for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang despite the club captain signing a new deal just last year.

Alexandre Lacazette is up for sale. This we know. So, it seems, is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if reports all over Europe on Sunday morning are anything to go by, all of which seem to have stemmed from a report in The Times.

Both Lacazette and Aubameyang were missing from Arsenal’s disastrous Premier League start against Brentford on Friday night with illness. Although nobody has said ‘covid’ as far as I can see, it seems like that is what it is, although why they couldn’t just say that is anyone’s guess.

Of course, saying you’re open to offers and finding anyone willing to make one are two separate things.

While I’m sure Aubameyang, who is now 32, wouldn’t be short of clubs wanting to buy him, none of those, however, are going to pay his £300kpw wages and Arsenal now find themselves back in a similar hole to the Mesut Ozil one they just dug themselves out of.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
