The Arsenal u23s returned to training on Thursday, and there were a few injury boosts among those making their comeback.

Jordi Osei-Tutu spent last season out on loan with Cardiff City, but he made just nine appearances as he was hit heavily by injuries, and ended the campaign with an ankle ligament problem. Fortunately, he was back in full training on Thursday.

Ben Cottrell had surgery in March on a knee injury, but he was also back in action on Thursday. Cottrell is one of the eight youth players Arsenal have listed for loan moves this summer.

Finally, Arsenal Youth report that u18 midfielder James Sweet also returned from injury this week.

The u18s kick off their pre-season campaign with a match against Chelmsford City on Saturday, before heading to Devon for a training camp. The first confirmed u23 fixture isn’t until July 20th.

Before that, the main point of interest with the u23s will be seeing which of them get called up to the first team for their trip to Edinburgh.
