Some outlets in France are getting rather excited on Marseille’s behalf at the thought of Arsenal spending £50m on Ben White because they think Brighton will spend a lot of it on Duje Caleta-Car.

Arsenal are on the verge of signing Ben White for £50m on a five-year deal and, as a result, Brighton will both need to replace him and have a bucketload of cash with which to do that.

The Seagulls have been linked with a move for Marseille’s Croatian defender, Duje Caleta-Car, and Maxifoot think that a good chunk of their Arsenal ‘jackpot’ could be thrown at Marseille to land the 24-year-old.

Marseille will apparently “do everything to close the deal,” as they eye up between €25m and €30m the player they paid around €19m for in 2018.

The French outlet also note that after a ‘very interesting’ 19/20, Caleta-Car struggled last season after his move to Liverpool fell through
