Fenerbahce could be interested in signing Cedric Soares this summer, but they’ve yet to make an offer and he wants to stay at Arsenal.

Reports from Turkey on Tuesday suggested Fenerbahce were interested in Cedric Soares. Takvim claimed he’s a priority signing, and they’re hoping to land him on loan with an option to buy, planning to open negotiations with Arsenal shortly.

Whether or not that’s true, Chris Wheatley reports that there are no offers on the table for him so far, and the right-back is determined to fight for his place at Arsenal.

That contradicts another part of Takvim’s story, where they claimed Cedric might ask for a transfer to increase his minutes. Whether Fenerbahce are in for him or not, it appears he isn’t pushing for a move.

This is certainly the first time we’ve seen it suggested that Cedric might angle for a move this summer. Up until now, it’s just been assumed that with a long contract and having only recently joined he’d probably want to stick around.

With the uncertainty around Hector Bellerin’s future, this is also an opportunity for other starting right-back hopefuls to impose themselves. We know Arsenal are in the market for a new signing, but Cedric and Calum Chambers will also be eyeing up the spot.
