Ben White has been at London Colney today to finalise his move to join Arsenal in a £50m transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth confirmed on Sunday that Ben White was expected to have his Arsenal medical on Wednesday ahead of his transfer to the club. Arsenal442 had previously exclusively revealed that the medical would take place on the Wednesday.
It appears Sky and Arsenal442 had it right, as Charles Watts reports that White was at London Colney to finalise his move today.
White arrived back from his holidays late last week, following his inclusion in the England squad for Euro 2020 earlier in the summer.
The centre-back will join the Gunners in a £50m deal with no add-ons, but the guaranteed fee will be delivered in structured payments. The initial paperwork has already been signed, and he’s agreed a five-year deal with his new club.
It’s going to be tight for White to be available to feature in Arsenal’s friendly against Chelsea at the weekend, but not impossible.
Assuming he has now signed, he has 16 days to get up to speed before the start of the Premier League season.
