Things start with the Champions qualifiers and will end, hopefully, with the Champions League final in Turin.

The key league games this season will be played on the opening day at home to Chelsea, 26 September at home to City. City away will be on 23 January and Chelsea away on 13 February.

You have to question why the league has selected Chelsea as the season opener for Arsenal, sandwiched in between two key UEFA Women’s Champions League games. It was the same as in 2011, when we played the first ever FA WSL game away to Chelsea on a poor sandy pitch, in between two Champions League semi-final against Lyon.

Here is the full schedule, Arsenal will take part in five competitions (UWCL, FA WSL, FA Cup x2, Conti Cup) this season. We do not know the dates for the FA WSL Continental Cup yet, all the other dates are listed below.

Overall, Arsenal will play a maximum of 45 games next season and it will be a tough job to manage loads and rotate players, especially those coming back from the Olympics.

Those players are unlikely to get a breather, as they will be needed as soon as they are finished in Tokyo.
