Arsenal hold a genuine interest in Tammy Abraham this summer, though any potential move will depend on outgoings.

Over the last couple of days, reports have suggested that Arsenal are leading the race to sign Tammy Abraham this summer.

It wasn’t clear whether we could trust the reports, as the claims initially came from The S*n, with Fabrizio Romano contesting the suggestion anything was advanced.

However, The Athletic have since confirmed that Arsenal really are interested in signing Abraham. He has admirers within the club including manager Mikel Arteta, and he’s a potential target if they can move others on first.

Arsenal reportedly want a loan deal, whilst Chelsea are looking for £40m for a permanent transfer. Eddie Nketiah is likely to be sold amid interest from England and Germany, but Alexandre Lacazette would also need to leave, and there are no guarantees there.

Boyhood Arsenal fan Abraham scored 12 goals and assisted four in all competitions last season, despite only playing 1,533 minutes. That’s a goal contribution every 96 minutes.

Nonetheless, he fell out of favour under Thomas Tuchel and is looking for a summer move as a result.
