William Saliba is on the shortlist for Ligue 1’s fan Team of the Season award, with the voting currently underway.

Ligue 1 have announced all of their nominees for their fan Team of the Season award, with William Saliba among those to make the shortlist. You can vote for him here.

Saliba made the list in the central defenders category, along with Yunis Abdelhamid, Marquinhos, Alexander Djiku, Nayef Aguerd, Marcelo, Harold Moukoudi, Presnel Kimpembe, Loic Bade, Axel Disasi, Jose Fonte, Guillermo Maripan, Duje Caleta-Car, and Sven Botman. Two of the above list will feature in the final team.

It’s encouraging for Saliba to get a nomination, having only joined Nice in the January transfer window. He made 20 appearances in Ligue 1 for his loan club, capping off the spell by scoring a winner in his final game of the campaign.

Sources from England around Arsenal have been pretty emphatic that the centre-back won’t be leaving the club this summer. He’s going to return and get a chance to impress Mikel Arteta in pre-season.
