The Daily Mail claim Watford hold a summer interest in three players who came through the Arsenal academy system.

The first is Glen Kamara, now of Rangers. The 25-year-old left Arsenal in 2017 after making over 40 u23 appearances and one senior start for the side.

He’s currently catching the eye at Euro 2020 with Finland, and Watford have reportedly held extensive discussions over a potential bid for him.

The second is Eddie Nketiah. As we’ve covered previously, Watford are one of the clubs in for Nketiah, along with West Ham United, Crystal Palace, and Bayer Leverkusen, among others. The Mail claim Watford are ‘monitoring developments’ with Nketiah.

Finally, the Mail claim Watford have also asked about Ainsley Maitland-Niles. This isn’t entirely new information either, with the Mirror recently reporting that both Watford and Southampton will make moves for Maitland-Niles this week.

Quite why Watford have suddenly taken such a shine to Arsenal youth products is anyone’s guess. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the two clubs’ training grounds are next-door neighbours and they’ve been looking over the fence.

Arsenal will be hoping for serious bids in the cases of Nketiah and Maitland-Niles, as they have a lot of business to do this summer and little scope for time-wasters.
