Jeorge Bird reports that Sydie Peck is set to join Sheffield United following his departure from Arsenal. The midfielder spent time on trial with Brighton, scoring for their u18s in April, and he also played for Cambridge United u16s on trial.

Peck was highly rated in his age group as a younger player, though his 2020/21 campaign was disrupted by injury. Still, it’s certainly a bit of a surprise to see him leaving.

Peck follows former Arsenal schoolboy Will Lankshear in trading North London for Sheffield, after Lankshear signed scholarship terms with Sheffield United earlier this year.

With the former Premier League club going down to the Championship this year, perhaps there’s more of an opportunity to break into senior football eventually than at Arsenal. But that’s still a way off considering how young the pair are.

Time will tell whether Peck’s exit is a significant loss to Arsenal.
