Italian outlet Sport Mediaset report that the agreement for the arrival of Granit Xhaka in Rome is now close. As soon as Switzerland exit Euro 2020, the Serie A club will be free to close the deal.

The distance between Arsenal and AS Roma in negotiations is now minimal, and an agreement will be found with the player’s consent.

Gazzetta.it claim Roma are trying to close the Xhaka deal for €16-17m. Calciomercato suggest it could be €18m including add-ons.

Just as it’s been throughout this saga, there’s little clarity over exactly over the exact fee details despite the apparent certainty it will get done.

We do know that Arsenal turned down a €15m bid from Roma, per the BBC. But the suggestion from RomaPress at the time was that the Italian club didn’t intend to raise their offer. You’d expect they’ll have to if they actually want to complete the signing.
