The Telegraph report that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as they look to overhaul their front line if they can get the players out.

For the time being, Arsenal have plenty of strikers, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, and Eddie Nketiah likely joined by Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun next season.

But there’s a lot of uncertainty around the futures of Lacazette and Nketiah in particular.

Plus, after the season he’s had, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Arsenal considering offers for Aubameyang. Of course, given his past record, it’s just as likely he stays and returns to form.

You’d imagine that for Arsenal to be able to afford a 24-year-old England international centre-forward with 21 club goals for a Premier League rival last season, they’d probably have to sell all three of the above. It seems unlikely Nketiah and Lacazette would raise enough money alone.

Perhaps that’s just the eventuality Arsenal are preparing for. In the seemingly unlikely event that all of last season’s senior strikers move on, it’s good to have a target in mind to replace them.
