Quite why it took so long to make the decision that surgery was required for Schnaderbeck, we may never know, but Arsenal confirmed on Friday that the 30-year-old, who has played just 21 times for Arsenal since arriving in 2018, had undergone successful surgery on the problem.

“She now begins her recovery process with the support of specialist care,” the Arsenal.com statement continued. “Everyone at the club will be supporting Viki through her recovery.”

There was no indication what the problem is nor how long she will be out for, as seems to be the way with the club these days. Whatever it is, it does not seem like she will be retuning any time soon.

Schnaderbeck picked up the initial injury against Manchester United at the start of November, ending her season after just 459 minutes, five starts and six matches.
