Speaking on a live show, RMC’s Mohamed Bouhafsi (via Guillaume Tarpi) reports that a potential transfer for Matteo Guendouzi to Marseille has advanced in recent days. There’s no agreement between the two clubs at this stage.

Football.London report that Matteo Guendouzi is expected to leave Arsenal in the coming weeks, with Marseille the current favourites to sign him. Hertha BSC have already opted against making his season-long loan spell permanent.

This follows reports from La Provence that Guendouzi is one of Marseille’s options for the summer transfer window, with the club’s hierarchy working on a move for the player amid the uncertainty around Boubacar Kamara’s future.

L’Equipe also recently reported that Marseille are anticipating the departure of key midfielder Kamara this summer, and that they’d lined up Guendouzi as a replacement. The Athletic suggest his departure this summer feels like an inevitability now.

Guendouzi has a year left on his Arsenal deal, and he’s currently out injured. He picked up a fractured metatarsal in his foot during his final game for Hertha. He made 24 appearances on loan in Germany this season, scoring twice and assisting once.
