Lazio have joined the race for Konstantinos Mavropanos, with VfB Stuttgart still keen to sign him on another loan with a purchase option.

Kicker report that Stuttgart would like to sign Mavropanos on loan again next season, but they’re now the only ones after the centre-back. Clubs from Serie A are interested, with Lazio named as one of the sides on his case.

Mavropanos was called up for the upcoming round of international fixtures earlier this week, making the squad list for clashes with Belgium and Norway in early June. It’s the second break in a row he’s been called up, following his debut in late March.

The defender also had a good loan spell away with Stuttgart, hence why they’re so keen to bring him back. But it seems Arsenal aren’t planning to reintegrate him with the squad, instead looking to loan or sell him on this summer.

Sven Mislintat has repeatedly stated that they want Mavropanos to return to Germany and claimed the player himself wants to stay if Arsenal don’t plan to integrate him.

Kicker previously reported Arsenal were opening the door a bit for Konstantinos Mavropanos to stay in the Bundesliga next season. They added that Mislintat has legitimate hopes he can negotiate a loan with a purchase option. But there’s still no decision yet.
