Arsenal don’t intend to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer, despite reports to the contrary in the last few days.

Corriere Fiorentino (via Sport Witness) reported earlier this week that Arsenal were one of the clubs tempting Dusan Vlahovic away from Fiorentina this summer, and the player was considering a move while he knows his stock is high.

But Fabrizio Romano has already spoken out to shoot down the rumour, claiming that whilst Vlahovic is indeed appreciated by many top clubs, Arsenal are not planning to sign him this summer.

The 21-year-old striker is having a breakout season, more than doubling his 2019/20 tally of nine goals in all competitions to hit 21 in 39 appearances this campaign so far. Scoring home and away against Juventus also did nothing to hurt his profile.

Those goals haven’t been enough to push Fiorentina far up the table, as they sit 13th and only seven points above the relegation zone going into the final game of the Italian league season.

So you can understand why Vlahovic might be considering a move, but it’s not even completely clear that Arsenal will be in the market for a striker at all, let alone Vlahovic specifically. They certainly won’t be until they can sell one or two of the current roster.
