David Luiz’s representatives have started to offer him out to potential summer suitors, including a club in the MLS, according to a report.

David Luiz’s contract with Arsenal comes to an end this summer, so the club will have to renegotiate a new deal if they want him to stick around.

CBS Sports report that the defender’s representatives have started to contact potential suitors for his signature, including an MLS club who have been offered his services. Lazio have also been linked with a move.

The MLS transfer seems a bit unlikely at this stage, due to Luiz’s salary. There’s also no suggestion Arsenal are desperate to get rid of him, with Mikel Arteta reportedly a big admirer of his leadership qualities in particular.

We’ve known since March that Arsenal are only planning to make a decision on Luiz at the end of the season. They clearly want more clarity on exactly where they are before releasing or extending. But it’s only natural the player will review his options in the meantime.

Luiz has made 30 appearances for Arsenal this season, but knee surgery and a further hamstring setback at the weekend have limited his recent appearances. There’s still hope he’ll feature before the end of the season though.
