Dani Ceballos is likely to remain in Spain this summer, with Atletico Madrid and Real Betis among the front-runners for his signature.

Spanish outlet AS report that Dani Ceballos is very clear that he doesn’t want any further loan spells this summer. He wants a team he can settle with and play a key role for. Specifically, he also wants to return to Spain.

A return to play for Real Madrid isn’t out of the question, but Ceballos is aware it’s not an easy target with Zinedine Zidane in charge. If he leaves, Atletico Madrid and Real Betis are the current favourites for his signature.

Estadio Deportivo claim Ceballos is angling for a move back to Betis, though it wouldn’t be easy.

The midfielder still has two years on his contract with Real Madrid, his salary could cause problems for Betis and the contentious manner of his departure from the club in 2017 still carries some weight with supporters.

Wherever he ends up, these reports only add weight to the recent claims that this season will be Ceballos’ last at Arsenal.
